Only other thing is to swap out the alloy floor plate for a steel one from the safari rifle. I will probably add one of these later especially if I move the bolt stop back. Still looking for the ideal mounts.īillingsly & Brownell have a very nice bolt release lever but not sure if they have them in stainless. Talleys would have required the adapters which negate the benefit of integral bases to me. I put Warne mounts which are nicely designed but are a big chunk of metal compared to the factory bases. I wish I had waited and gotten the Brown Ruger Feather weight or McMillan Classic in Edge lay up instead. I put on a B&C stock as again the only choice for a lefty. Those were the only lefties available at the time. Mine had an oversize chamber to the point that without full length sizing cases they wouldn't even fit in another rifle, so that made it an easy decision to upgrade the barrel.Ī good gunsmith can tune the factory trigger but I opted for the Timney, the Moyer trigger is nice but requires a substantial amount of in-letting. ![]() First question is how does it shoot? Does it foul badly? If the barrel is OK I would leave it alone.
